Roswell High School Announces Head Coach for Varsity Football
Roswell, Ga. – April 16, 2020 – Roswell High School Principal Dr. Robert Shaw and Athletic Director Ben Sutter are pleased to announce that Chris Prewett will be taking over the helm as Head Football Coach for the Hornets.
“Coach Prewett has proven himself in just a short period of time that he is one of the top defensive minds in the high school football,” said Sutter. “The players are excited, the administration is excited, and I know that the fans will be excited to see what levels Coach Prewett can lead the Hornet Football team to in the upcoming years.”
Prewett is a native of Warner Robins, Ga., and graduated from Houston County High School. After playing high school football, he went on to play at LaGrange College in LaGrange, Ga., where he was a four-year letterman. Prewett graduated from LaGrange College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He also earned his Master of Arts in Teaching from LaGrange College in 2014.
Prewett is no new to Roswell High School having served as the Hornets’ Defensive Coordinator since 2017, producing some of the top defenses in the state in each of his years at Roswell. Prior to coming to Roswell Prewett was in the same position at Johns Creek High School for two seasons, and one season prior to that at Pope High School. While young, Prewett has proven himself pretty quickly to a sharp football IQ, the ability to work with our young athletes, and earned the respect from those he works alongside.
“The entire Roswell football program, at all levels, has enjoyed success on and off the field over the last few years. I am excited about the future of Roswell football under Coach Prewett’s leadership,” said Shaw. “As the Hornets began transitioning into the new football season, the Hornets are in good hands.”
Coach Prewett is married to Ashley Prewett and they have one daughter, Blakely.
