The Emergency Management Department and Sheriffs Department for Colquitt County have issued the following statement regarding concerns for travel to Moultrie, Ga. for Friday Sept. 8’s Football game.
” The current weather situation for Friday night’s football game does not involve any type of weather from the hurricane. Hurricane Irma will not effect our area until Sunday night. Our businesses have plenty of gas/diesel and will continue to have a supply through the weekend and we do not see any reason for our businesses to run out of gas/diesel. The roads are clear and travel should not be a problem. At this point there is heavy traffic on I-75 Northbound but this should ease up as we move through the day today and tomorrow. Georgia State Highways 19 and 41 are available for travel back to Roswell. As for concerns for diesel with the buses, they can refuel at our bus barn if the need arises. Fans should be prepared to make the trip back to Roswell after the game Friday night because there are no hotel accomodations available in our area.”
